Terms of service
Effective October 23, 2026
These terms govern use of the OmniClick Chrome extension and its project website, maintained through wisecrunch/OmniClick (“the maintainer”). By installing or using OmniClick, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the extension.
1. What OmniClick provides
OmniClick offers optional tools for Gmail, including private thread notes, supported audio attachment playback, and Google Drive note sync with backups and restore controls. Features can change as the project develops. The current source version is provided without a usage fee and is installed through Chrome’s developer-mode workflow.
Drive sync requires a suitable Google Cloud OAuth configuration and your Google authorization. It is not automatically enabled by installing the extension. This desktop extension does not provide an interface inside the official Gmail mobile app.
2. Permitted use and your responsibilities
You may install and use OmniClick for lawful personal or business purposes. You are responsible for your own accounts, the content you put into notes, permissions you grant, and any applicable rights or obligations related to email messages and recordings you access.
- Use the extension only with accounts and data you are authorized to access.
- Do not use it to violate another person’s privacy, intellectual property, or legal rights.
- Do not misuse Google services, bypass access controls, or interfere with other users or systems.
- Keep your browser, accounts, and exported backups secure.
3. Your content and privacy
You retain your rights in your notes and other content. OmniClick does not claim ownership of them. Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. Optional sync stores note files and saved versions in your Google Drive rather than in a developer-operated storage service.
You control your Drive folder’s sharing settings. Do not publish private notes, emails, or access credentials in the public support issue tracker.
4. Backups, sync, and availability
Keep independent backups of important information. Local browser storage can be removed, Google authorization can expire or be revoked, and network failures or third-party changes can interrupt syncing. When multiple versions conflict, the extension uses note timestamps and a deterministic tie break to select the current version, while preserving uploaded versions for recovery. This is not a guarantee that every unsaved edit can be recovered.
Deleting a note can leave deletion markers and earlier saved versions. Disconnecting or uninstalling does not remove files already saved in Drive. See the Privacy Policy for steps to remove all copies. You are responsible for confirming that any needed export or backup completed successfully.
5. Third-party services and independence
Google, Gmail, Chrome, Google Drive, and GitHub are third-party services with their own terms, policies, and availability. You must comply with the terms applicable to your use of those services. OmniClick is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or GitHub. Their names and marks belong to their respective owners.
6. Software and source rights
The extension source is available in the project repository. Any software license included with a component governs that component. These terms permit using the extension but do not independently grant redistribution or other source-code rights beyond an applicable software license. Third-party notices and licenses, where provided, remain applicable.
7. No warranty
To the extent permitted by applicable law, OmniClick and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free results, compatibility, fitness for a particular purpose, or data recovery. Gmail interface changes can affect functionality. No particular support response time or ongoing maintenance is promised.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the maintainer is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, lost profits, or business interruption arising from use of or inability to use OmniClick. Nothing in these terms excludes rights, warranties, or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
9. Stopping use and changes
You can stop using OmniClick at any time by disabling or uninstalling it. Disconnect Drive and manage any stored copies separately if you also want to stop syncing or remove data. The project or individual features may be changed or discontinued. Updated terms will be published here with a revised effective date; review material changes before continuing to use an updated version.
10. Contact
For questions about the extension or these terms, contact the maintainer through the OmniClick issue tracker. Issues are public, so do not include private account or note information.
